Pain management is an increasing concern with the use of opioids as a treatment protocol. Acupuncture Canada’s Rapid Pain Reduction course provides training on acupuncture interventions that are non-narcotic, low-risk and fast-acting. It can be used by health professionals including physicians, physiotherapists, nurses, chiropractors and massage therapists.
This one-day course will introduce participants to an auricular protocol that is used by the U.S. military as well as other effective acupoints for pain reduction.
- Identify points for acupuncture protocols and auricular acupuncture protocols
- Explore the mechanism of action for acupuncture protocols and auricular acupuncture protocols
- Discuss application of treatments
Instruction in this one-day course includes demonstration and skills practice.
Rapid Pain Reduction will be taught by Dr. Edward Gray, D.C., CAFCI, an Ontario-based chiropractor and registered acupuncturist. He uses acupuncture as an adjunctive modality to his chiropractic practice where the two therapies compliment each other. His research in rehabilitation, which has been published in a peer-reviewed journal, specifically details the benefits to patients when a practitioner takes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
